Following Directions

Yesterday was not the day I thought that I would start a new venture. Yesterday and the next few ahead are about taking care of two little boys. Might I add BUSY little boys. My Apple Watch just notified me that I burned more yesterday chasing them than if I had gone to Bootcamp! I consider it an honor to be trusted with their care while the parents get some much needed Dad and Mom time and I am loving the little boy snuggles on these cold winter days.

That being said I wasn't even going to get out my computer these few days. Then I read another email. From another woman that I identified with. Again. We talked back and forth over email for a bit and then I heard the little voice again.

"Lord not now." Then I remembered what I had read recently from Matthew Kelly in his book, Resisting Happiness. "I resist, and then I surrender. Surrender comes because I see the stupidity of resisting. Grace gives us the strength to break through resistance."

So I threw up my hands and said "fine Lord," and went with it.

It has been on my heart to start a private group where we can share our sobriety joy and struggles. Here we are able to support and encourage each other. Addiction is tough and we are stronger together.

The group is called Joyful Surrender and it is a secret Facebook group, which assures total privacy. Your Facebook friends cannot see that you are a part of it. To join simply email me and I will send you an invite. If you search on Facebook for it, you will not find it. This group is for anyone struggling with an addiction of any kind. While there are many groups out there for addiction, this one is a faith journey as well. I encourage to join this one if you would like to. Not only do I want you to have support where your privacy is protected, I want you to help give support to others.

There isn't a one-size fits all approach to recovery. I can tell you though that if you stay close to God in it, you cannot fail.

Hebrews 10: 22-25 So let’s do it—full of belief, confident that we’re presentable inside and out. Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching.

Now excuse me, I have some little boys to love on!

Blessings on your day,

Sherry
