Let's talk about drinking, or not drinking.
Every recovery story is beautiful, but not everyone wants to share theirs. I feel like my addiction story is not exactly traditional! When I was challenged to share it I stepped out in faith, started talking and have been doing it ever since. In the midst of my lowest point of addiction, I was challenged to join a team of cyclists for a fundraiser that was cycling from Michigan to Texas. I did not even own a bike.
Fifty-one days later I left on that trip and after nine years and 18,000 miles of cycling, I am sober and living life to its fullest potential. I share my story on my blog and at events with honesty, emotion, and humor. I have a genuine desire to encourage women who have a desire to get into recovery and surrender the secret sins that try to define us.
Are you a Christian woman leading a secret life? Do you feel like you are all alone in it with no way out?
I want to encourage you to dig deeper and surrender to God's leading. My story is about a spiritual, emotional, and physical journey to draw nearer to God and a stubborn refusal to let addiction define who I am. While you don’t have to go on a bike ride across the country to surrender your secret sins, I would like to keep the conversation going about what new life in sobriety looks like. Join me on the blog and in the messages I share.
On November 6, 2013, I took God’s hand and have never let go in this new life of sobriety. Join me.

One of my favorite verses is "Surrender your whole being to him to be used for righteous purpose!"
